Medical Insurance |
|
All KGC students must
be covered by adequate medical insurance. International students
are eligible for BC Medical Services Plan (MSP) after three
months in Canada. On the first day of school, KGC will assist
international students in purchasing private medical insurance
to cover this three-month waiting period. KGC will also assist
international students with making application for MSP.
Due to BC legislation that requires all BC residents be covered
by medical insurance, it is the responsibility of all Permanent
Residents and Canadian Citizens to be covered by MSP. |

Lunchroom |
|
KGC has a bright and
cheerful lunchroom specific for the use of our students. The
lunchroom includes a refrigerator, several microwave ovens,
a hot water machine and vending machines. The lunchroom is a
great place for students to make new friends, read a magazine
or enjoy the beautiful city view. |

Activities
and Excursions |
|
Studying in Vancouver
gives International students the opportunity to immerse in
the adventure of a lifetime. Vancouver has earned its reputation
as safe, clean, peaceful city, with a rich cultural mix. Students
have the opportunity to take advantage of Vancouver’s
natural beauty – stately mountains, mile long beaches
and rushing rivers. Each week at KGC, our Student Assistant
organizes an activity or excursion for our ESL students. These
weekly activities and excursions focus on developing student’s
cultural awareness and practice of the English language in
a natural environment. |

Accommodation in Vancouver |
|
International students
new to Vancouver are encouraged to consider a homestay as their
living choice. Homestay accomodation consists of a private room
in the home of a Canadian family who will also provide three
meals each day. Your homestay host will assist you with your
adjustment to Canada and provide great opportunity to practice
English. Some students will remain in a homestay for three months
while they get to know the city, and others remain with the
host family for the full length of their study in Canada.
KGC’s professional Homestay coordinators, CVI International
have been providing these services for years.
Students who do not want to stay in a homestay can search
for an apartment by staying in a hotel for the first week.
International students should know it is difficult to find
furnished accommodations for rent in the city.
